The shaping and cuticle work hold up until nails grow out, roughly 2–3 weeks.
The nail lacquer polish will last 5-7 days.
With regular polish remover — no soaking or filing required, which makes it the gentlest option for nails.
The gel polish will last 2-3 weeks.
It needs to be soaked off in acetone — it should never be peeled, as that can strip layers of the natural nail.
Not if properly soaked off and removed by a technician. Damage usually comes from picking or peeling gel.
The builder / hard gel will last 3-4 weeks.
Not when applied and removed correctly. Unlike soft gel or gel polish, builder / hard gel is non-porous and cannot be dissolved with acetone alone. Your technician will file off the bulk of the product leaving a very thin protective layer, then gently buff the remainder to not damage your natural nails.
Around the 3-week mark, as the natural nail grows out from under the product.
The soft gel extensions will last 3-4 weeks.
It should be soaked off, not ripped off — proper removal is quick and doesn’t damage the natural nail underneath.
Soft gel extensions (Gel-X) uses a pre-made tip for length and shape, applied faster than sculpting extensions by hand with builder gel. Builder / hard gel offers more customization but takes more time to build the shape on the natural nail or a tip.

We work with a gentle, precision approach to the cuticle area rather than aggressive cutting, which keeps the skin barrier intact and reduces the risk of hangnails and irritation.
A dry manicure skips the soak and uses an e-file for cuticle work instead of softener or pushing, for a cleaner, longer-lasting look. Russian manicure is a more precise, thorough version of this technique.
Every 2–3 weeks is common for maintenance, though this depends on the service type and how fast your nails grow.
Not inherently — but improper removal and over-filing can thin and weaken nails. Proper technique and regular breaks between gel or hard gel sets keep nails healthy.
Yes. We carry gel products that are HEMA-free, and a selection that is both HEMA-free and TPO-free.
HEMA is a common ingredient in gel polish and one of the more frequent causes of contact allergy in nail services – itching, redness, or swelling around the nail folds, sometimes appearing only after months or years of wearing gel without issue. If you’ve reacted to gel before, or you’d simply prefer to avoid these ingredients, tell us when you book so your technician can set up with the right products and colour range for your appointment.
Yes. Let us know when you book so we can allow enough time. If you’re arriving with acrylic, hard gel, or an unknown product, mention that too – removal time varies quite a bit by product.
Yes, removal is a charged service. Removing product properly without damaging the natural nail takes time and skill, and it’s the step where most nail damage actually happens – which is why we don’t rush it or treat it as a throwaway part of the appointment.
We remove by soaking, not scraping. We file off only the top coat to break the seal, wrap each nail in acetone, and let the product soften until it lifts away on its own. Nothing is pried, forced, or filed down to the nail plate. Harder products like builder gel, Gel-X, and acrylic take longer than gel polish, so removal is priced by product type and booked with extra time.
Generally yes. Ventilated spaces are a common precaution, but there’s no strong evidence that manicures themselves pose a risk.
